Home 5 News 5 Eden District Municipality: RFQ for Landfill and Alternative Waste Management PPP

1 September 2014

GreenCape, as part of the Steering Committee for the Eden District Landfill PPP process, is quite pleased to announce that Eden District Municipality (EDM) is seeking to pre-qualify waste management companies or consortia to develop, design, finance, maintain and operate a new district regional landfill/waste disposal facility under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) to serve the Municipal areas of Bitou, George, Knysna and Mossel Bay. The project further entails proposals to implement alternative waste treatment technologies at each of the seven local municipalities, in order to reduce the volume of waste transported and landfilled at the proposed new regional landfill/waste disposal facility, or options for alternative waste treatment technologies at the proposed regional facility. The project also includes the bulk transfer of all waste from the transfer stations of George, Knysna and Bitou.

A compulsory briefing session will be held at Mission Street, George, on 4 September 2014 at 11:00 and the closing date for clarification questions is 26 September 2014. Please see the full advert for details on how to apply and download the full RFQ document here.

Best of luck to all applicants.
