Rice sat alongside Wido Schnabel from Jinko Solar, who opened a PV panel manufacturing plant earlier this month in Cape Town. Rice stated that it’s an “exciting time for the energy sector in South Africa – renewables’ are really showing what can be done”. He describes the REIPPP as a “world leading programme”, while recognizing that there are “opportunities for South Africa that, to date, haven’t yet been captured and that’s where we really should be focusing on going forward”.
